Dwayne Johnson has an eye for talent. The WWE legend didn’t stay away from the world of sports even after leaving wrestling behind. Johnson, as a sports enthusiast, is always on the lookout for opportunities that can help him get further deeper into any sort of sport. He started this year’s sports enthusiasm by relaunching XFL for the third time, and now, he is also eyeing ‘basketball’.

The former wrestler started by getting acquainted with LSU talent, Angel Reese. He further went on to offer her an important position in his latest sports program. With this, she also became the first of LSU to be offered a space in The Rock’s prestigious program.

What is Dwayne Johnson helping Reese with?

ZOA Energy unveiled its latest annual NIL program. It’s called ‘The Rock’s Warriors’, where collegiate sports athletes from around the nation were collected to take part. As a NIL program, it’s going to create valuable opportunities for the athletes signed with it. In return, the young athletes will prove profitable to the company and its owner, Dwayne Johnson.

Among the seven incredible athletes, college basketball star Angel Reese was also present. LSU Tiger’s basketball talent was offered a place in The Rock’s new NIL program and it looks like she was happy to accept it.

This is the first time an LSU student has got to work with the Hollywood sensation. However, Reese has experience being LSU’s ‘first’ on more than one occasion.

The other ‘first’ that Reese scored was to get featured in Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit magazine of 2023. Although her appearance did not come without its own set of controversies, it was an achievement, nonetheless.

Reese’s big achievement before signing Dwayne Johnson’s NIL program

Angel Reese started becoming a big name when the latest season of NCAA women’s basketball came swinging in. Battling tough competition on the basketball court, LSU’s Tigers came out victorious as champions. During this time, Reese’s inner athlete was shining brightly throughout the season. Her rising popularity gave way to several deals. One of the great ones was her deal with the fashion company ‘Coach’. And another memorable moment was her deal with Sports Illustrated to appear in their swimsuit magazine of 2023.

This appearance quickly became controversial because of the athlete’s ‘ring finger’ pose. This was a throwback to the time when she divided the basketball fanbase with the same gesture during one of her matches. When she pointed out her ring finger at the opponent by the end of one of her matches, she was taunting them that she was going to score a ring.

Some fans disapproved of this gesture, while some liked her boldness. And when the athlete reconstructed the same pose in the swimsuit picture, it struck a controversy yet again.
