WWE NXT Wins Tuesday Night War Ratings With Almost 1 Million Viewers, Tony Khan’s AEW Dynamite Significantly Behind

This week’s Tuesday episode of NXT was crucial as the Stamford-based promotion went to war against its rival promotion’s Dynamite show. It was a former WWE superstar Edge‘s AEW in-ring debut on the show. This put WWE at a high risk of losing its viewers to AEW, which would have created a major decline in TV ratings.

Fortunately, WWE’s tactics worked, and they gained success in defeating AEW in the Tuesday Night War with whopping numbers as close to 1 million. This left its rival promotion significantly behind in the rating scale.

WWE NXT beats AEW Dynamite in TV ratings

NXT and Dynamite went head to head once again this Tuesday and WWE came out on top after the hard-fought battle. The official ratings for last night’s NXT and Dynamite head-to-head programming are now available on social media.

WrestleOps posted it on Twitter where the report shows that WWE NXT bagged 921,000 viewers, making the rating of 0.30 in the P18-49 demo. AEW Dynamite, on the other hand, managed to gather an audience of 609,000 viewers only and was left significantly behind by WWE with a 0.26 rating in P18-49 demographics.

After analyzing the numbers, it is pretty clear WWE won by a significant margin. This means the Stamford-based promotion did a great job strategizing for this week’s NXT.

A star-studded night at NXT 10/10

As Edge’s debut was on Tuesday, it was sure that WWE would have a hard time coping with the situation. But the plan for the Stamford-based promotion devised proved to be completely foolproof. The promotion brought top names in WWE to NXT for the audience to hook their eyes to the screen.

John Cena, Cody Rhodes, LA Knight, The Undertaker, and many more made special appearances on the Tuesday show. WWE even pulled out its ace when Jade Cargill (WWE’s newest signee and a former AEW star) surprised the WWE Universe with a special appearance on the show.

From the beginning to the very end, the show was packed with action and drama. There were many impromptu matches and special announcements, which enticed the viewers to watch the show. No wonder WWE won the Tuesday Night War against AEW.

WWE has been in business for far longer than AEW. Therefore, it knows what attracts an audience and how to captivate their attention. Surely AEW has a lot to learn from its loss and also from its rival promotion. Though AEW lost in the TV ratings battle, the Dynamite show was no less by any means. It was equally entertaining.
