Everyone is a critic when it comes to pro wrestling. Wrestlers from every promotion, be it WWE, AEW, or Impact Wrestling, get trolled online for their in-ring performance and appearance, style, mic skills, etc. This can often be demotivating for a wrestler who puts their bodies on the line for the sports and the viewer’s entertainment. But what happens when they get tired of the bullying and speak out against it?
One look at any wrestler’s social media page, and there will be a slew of comments criticizing the wrestler for something or the other. While most ignore the hate and negativity, this can get too much for some. For one AEW star, waking up to the constant barrage of hate comments was too much to go unnoticed. They took to social media to address the issue.

Taya Valkyrie began wrestling in 2010 and worked with AAA, Lucha Underground, Impact Wrestling, WWE, and AEW. She has made a solid career, yet she was the target of online bullying. Taking to Twitter, the AEW star talked about waking up to mean comments about her body and appearance. Her message was that she was human and giving it her best every day.
Waking up to comments such as, Taya is fat, disgusting, slow, untalented, loser, looks like a man, and so on and so forth. I’m just a human being trying my best. Remember that next time and hopefully you never have to hear that kind of stuff about yourself.

The message gained massive traction among the wrestling community. Many fans and stars were quick to show their support for the AEW star. This is not the first female wrestlers have banded together to stand up against online trolls. The same was seen when Piper Niven debuted on RAW. She was body shamed on social media until Natalya, Paige, and Alexa Bliss supported her.

Whoa….. Um Taya is awesome…. Taya is gorgeous….. Taya is a hell of a worker. Taya is one of my all time favs. Sometimes two talented workers have a match that does not click on all cylinders. It happens. Does not take away from your amazing talent. Thank you for being you!

You've put your body on the line for people's entertainment for so long as a legend in the business. I have so much respect for you. Shame on people for treating you this way. It's a wonder that anyone in the public eye even stays on platforms like this when they're so toxic.
