At AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door, Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega went one-on-one against each other in a singles bout. Both the stars displayed their best in the hard-fought battle. But there could be only one victor and it was Ospreay. He defeated his opponent to win the IWGP United States Championship.
The match received quite a positive reaction from the crowd. Plus, it was also deemed one of the greatest matches in AEW history. However, despite the match being excellent, WWE legend Bully Ray expressed his dissatisfaction with certain aspects of the bout.

While speaking on a recent episode of the Busted Open podcast, Ray shared his thoughts on Omega vs Ospreay match at the Forbidden Door. He mentioned that during some points in the match; he wondered why AEW did what they did at the PPV.
“Because there was something that went on in the match that was a bit glaring to me that took away from comparing that match to the Mona Lisa. Because Mona Lisa is considered the greatest piece of artwork that exists on the planet. But something happened that for me was just like I don’t understand why they did this,” he said.

The thing that particularly left Ray unhappy was how the Jacksonville-based promotion used Don Callis for the match.
Don Callis was thrown out of ringside
During the match, Callis was present ringside. Being a heel, he decided to intervene in the match. But the referee threw him out. The same thing happened during AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm vs Willow Nightingale match that took place right before Omega and Ospreay’s match.

Saraya and Ruby Soho tried to help Storm and tip the scales in her favor. But they were too thrown out of the ringside. Ray didn’t like AEW using the same tactics in two different matches back to back. He believes AEW should’ve never wasted the throwing out of the people on the floor in the Storm vs Nightingale match.
