It is often said that moms know best. Instinctively, a mother will know what’s best for her child. But prominent pro wrestler Will Ospreay seems to have missed the memo. The British pro wrestler, unlike his senior John Cena, failed to pay heed to his mother. Weeks after his appearance at AEW All In, Ospreay is now filled with regret, as evident by a video he had shared on social media.

The video has since been deleted, but not before some keen observers recorded the content, thus making it available on various social media platforms.

Ospreay, 30, took on iconic wrestler Chris Jericho as AEW hosted its biggest pay-per-view event, the second edition of All In, at Wembley Stadium in the UK. The event had many prominent wrestlers from ROH, AEW and NJPW. The NJPW star, who won the encounter in front of his home crowd, later got a special tattoo to celebrate the milestone event.

Now, it looks like the body art has backfired. Recording a video recently, the current IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion said he’s in Japan and he has heard something that cannot be made up. “I had no f**king sleep, I’m tired. This is the worst, f**king day of my life,” Ospreay said, before revealing his real problem.

He said that it was hard for him to get inked. “My mom f**king hates them bruv,” Ospreay said in his f-filled rant. On the other hand, WWE and pro wrestling icon John Cena had revealed in 2015 that he remained ink free due to his mother’s wish. The 46-year-old 16-time world champion, unlike Ospreay, respected his mother’s wish, albeit out of fear, to not regret the decision later on in life.

But why is Will Ospreay upset? Let’s find out the reason that’s troubling the British star.

A massive tattoo botch has left The Aerial Assassin irate

Ospreay isn’t the first human to have had a tattoo done to mark a special occasion. There are many who have done it in the past and it’s safe to say that it’ll continue in the future as well.

The tattoo he got was AEW’s attendance at the iconic Wembley for the August 27 marquee event. At that time, Tony Khan’s wrestling promotion announced that 81,035 people had attended the event, beating WrestleMania 32’s record. The 2016 marquee event was viewed by 80,709 spectators at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The worldwide record set by AEW, however, has been overturned as official figures from the UK show only 72,265 were in attendance. This, for Ospreay, came as a shock who now has 81,000 imprinted on his forearm.

That he has fallen short by nearly 9,000 people has left him irate. The other way Will Ospreay could have avoided the botch was by opting for a John Cena-like attitude and respecting his mom’s wish. Maybe Ospreay will get a correction, maybe he won’t. But the video will forever be a reminder for him to listen to his mother from now on, as moms know what’s best.
