CM Punk’s bombshell firing has been the biggest news in pro wrestling for the last few days. Fans were shocked to find out that AEW has severed all ties with Punk. Although CEO Tony Khan took full responsibility for the firing, an ex-WWE commentator and manager feels someone else can also be at fault.

AEW has started wiping out CM Punk’s history in their company as we speak. Just a few days ago, Punk was replaced on Collision’s main poster by the leader of the Bullet Club Gold, Jay White.
As fans are still getting to terms with the news, former WWE personality Jim Cornette pointed out that Khan doesn’t own sole responsibility for Punk’s exit. He suspects that AEW’s Sr. Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Megha Parekh played a big part in the decision too. Punk got stripped of his title and received a suspension last year following a backstage altercation.
He believes that suspension too was because of Megha Parekh and not Tony Khan. On his podcast Drive-Thru he said, “Well, so Tony finally made a decision, you think? I thought whoever really calls the shots over there is the one that would make a decision this big, I’m thinking because Megha Parekh over there”.
According to him, Parekh shares a close bond with The Young Bucks with whom Punk got into an altercation last year that eventually got him suspended. He said, “She’s been involved in this since the start because she was one of the people that burst into his locker room along with the buckaroos and their ilk and started the whole goddamn deal a year ago. And we know that Megha is close to the Bucks, not as close as she is to some of the boys.”
He also said that she is gathering all the evidence when they finally go to court. He added, “when the lawsuit eventually happens, we’ll go, ‘Oh my God. Tony was so scared. Tony was so scared the night that he saw his first fight. It was traumatizing for the boy.'”
But news has just emerged that Jack Perry was not the only one whom Punk attacked backstage that night.
CM Punk lunged towards Khan during the backstage altercation
Wrestling fans are familiar with CM Punk’s lack of restraint when it comes to expressing his anger. As seen very well last year in the backstage brawl with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega that got him suspended.
