And while Sasha Banks has been a major name as a free agent, another of them is Kamille, the former NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) wrestler who led the company’s women’s division for the past few years. Her contract with the company expired on January 1, so her signing with another promotion could happen at any time.

Kamille to possibly find a new home in AEW

The presence of Kamille backstage at AEW Dynamite a few days ago gave rise to rumors about a possible addition to Tony Khan’s company’s roster. However, it was later stated that her backstage presence at Dynamite was because she was only visiting friends, as she resides in the area where the event took place. But now, according to recent information shared by PWinsider in a recent tweet, the wrestler has rejected a move to WWE, and AEW seems to be the most likely candidate to have her signature. The tweet’s caption read, “PWInsider: Kamille is no longer WWE bound at this time. Despite being offered a NXT deal talks have not moved forward and AEW is being seen as the more likely destination.

The 31-year-old became a free agent on January 1st, after declining an option for six more months on her contract with NWA. Immediately after this became known, WWE showed a lot of interest in her, and, according to PWInsider, an offer was made to her to be part of the NXT roster. However, as reported by Fightful Select, during her visit to Dynamite, Kamille spoke on the show with people of influence from All Elite Wrestling, although no further details have been given about it, and it is unknown if the conversation she has had with said people has to do with a possible hire. But why are major promotions so eager to hire her?

A top star in the NWA

Kamille joined NWA in 2019. Initially, serving as a bodyguard for Nick Aldis, who was the NWA World Champion at the time. Her main role was to protect and support Aldis in both his starting defenses and rivalries. Over time, Kamille also became an active wrestler in the ring, participating in singles and tag team matches in the NWA.

She competed in the NWA women’s division and had the opportunity to fight for the NWA Women’s World Championship on several occasions, finally winning it in 2021. She then had a massive 812-day reign, which is one of the longest in the history of the title. Prior to her time in the NWA, Kamille participated in two WWE tryouts.

Kamille had the option to extend his contract with NWA for six more months. However, the fighter gave it up to explore new avenues for her professional future.
