WON reporter Denise Salcedo took to X on February 12th to post a quick interview with AEW owner Tony Khan. In the short clip, she asked Tony Khan about his reaction to WWE’s new $5 billion deal with Netflix and the road ahead for AEW. While Khan showed professionalism during his response, he did not hesitate to tease about the new home of AEW after WWE’s mammoth $5 billion deal.

Tony Khan is optimistic about AEW’s future in streaming

When Denise Salcedo asked Tony Khan about their plan for streaming services, he replied, “I think there are a ton of opportunities in the market and clearly demand for it. And seeing what’s happening in the industry, right now, people have seen other big streaming deals happening in wrestling. And I think particularly for AEW, the stage is set for us to have a great media rights year and by the end of the year, we’ll know the home for AEW going forward.” As of now, AEW streams on the TBS network while there are talks of a future with the WBD network (with ESPN and FOX).

Tony Khan also acknowledged the call of the fans who want a streaming platform for AEW. He said, “It’s really exciting timing. AEW, we do not have a streaming platform that we are with domestically right now. I think it’s something that wrestling fans’ been calling for.

Khan further explained why they are a good fit for platforms looking for sports content. He said, “We have the library. We have the content. We also produce great new content including the great PPV events we do that are streaming PPVs right now.
