Tony Khan Shares His Honest Thoughts on NXT Battleground and AEW Double or Nothing Colliding on the Same Date – “We Will Do the Best Show”

AEW set its foot in the pro wrestling market in 2019. Ever since then, it has been competing with the top pro wrestling promotion in the world. So far Tony Khan and his promotion have done a great in giving tough completion to its rival company. Once again, AEW and WWE will go toe-to-toe on May 28. AEW’s Double or Nothing and WWE’s NXT Battleground will compete for audience viewership this Sunday. It will be interesting to see which event will end up garnering the most attention from the fans.

Speaking on this matter, the AEW President had a few comments on both events happening on the same day.

Tony Khan believes AEW Double or Nothing will be successful no matter what

On a recent AEW “DOUBLE OR NOTHING” Media Call, Sean Neumann from WrestlingInc. asked Khan if he has any concerns about WWE and AEW sharing the same date for their major events this Sunday. The CEO of AEW confessed it doesn’t bother him.

He stated he has full confidence that AEW Double or Nothing will do really well in audience viewership. He believes that there will be a considerable amount of people who will watch the show. “And I expect we will do the best show on Sunday. I think there will be a big audience for AEW Double or Nothing,” he said.

He has full faith that the AEW Sunday PPV event is going to BE a hit show. Plus, he is ready for the competition that WWE will bring this Sunday.

AEW President likes competition

During the media call, Khan stated he enjoys having some competition in the business. Ever since AEW launched back in 2019, they have been competing with WWE in one way or the other. At this point, he is used to having a viewership battle with his rival company. In fact, its flagship show Dynamite went head to head with NXT for quite some time on Wednesdays, leading to a rating war.

He said that he has no problem with competing with his rival company as long as they do it ethically. In fact, he encourages ethical competition. Therefore, he again reiterated that he has no concerns about the Sunday AEW PPV. In addition, he even wished WWE the best for its Sunday NXT event.
