While AEW fans are ecstatic with his decision, hardcore WWE fans have started trolling him for the same on social media. But as all this drama unfolds, WWE made another huge mistake that will cost them dearly.

Wrestling monikers and their supporting names are often how fans remember their favorite superstars for life. Because let’s be honest, very few people actually know that the real name of Hulk Hogan is Terry Gene Bollea. That’s how important a moniker is to a wrestling superstar.
A problem arose when Dwayne Johnson had to start using his original name when moving to Hollywood as the rights to the name The Rock were previously owned by WWE. Currently, Johnson owns all the rights to the name The Rock, including the logos and phrases. But all this took a lot of time for Dwayne Johnson after a legal hassle.

Luckily that will never be the case for Edge as WWE’s silly mistake will work in the favor of Edge and Tony Khan. PWInsider just reported that WWE had given up the rights to the term “Rated R Superstar” almost 3 years ago. This leaves the golden moniker open for both Edge and Tony Khan to copyright and use for future marketing and promotions.
