This week’s Dynamite episode made history by beating WWE Raw in ratings for the first time. While Tony Khan was basking in the glory of this amazing accomplishment, a hurl of trolling on the internet cut his celebration short. He recently used an internet database to defend AEW ratings, which made him a subject of criticism and mockery on social media. Former Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff was one of the people who criticized him for his actions. Let’s dive deep and find out what Khan said exactly that made him a victim of all the bashing on X.

Tony Khan cites Cagematch during a recent media call

AEW is organizing the Worlds End PPV on Saturday. A few hours ago, AEW held a media call for the upcoming PPV. During the media call, Khan was about his booking strategy for 2024 and, if he considered expanding his team, for more creative responsibilities. He then admitted to being directly involved at first. But given their string of successful shows, he is willing to experiment with booking.

He said, “Recently, we’ve had some of our best shows we have ever done. And this year if you look at 2023 and just to use as samples, you can look at fan feedback from different shows. One site that measures fan feedback is Cagematch. Look at the top 100 shows this year and look at how many of them are from AEW.”

“And if you throw this version of ROH in there too, you get some more but it’s pretty incredible and the top 100 shows that I’ve over 50 votes, top 100 shows even more so than I have over 100 votes look at those and look at how many of them happened in 2023 from AEW or even a couple more from ROH, and that speaks pretty highly I thought but much more so I would talk TV ratings,” he added.

He highlighted the numerous AEW and ROH shows in the top 100 rankings on Cagematch while making this statement. It was this statement from Khan that prompted Bischoff to react on social media.

Eric Bischoff’s reaction to Khan’s statement

Bischoff is not a fan of Cagematch ratings. In the past, he has pointed out that Cagematch is not a verifiable source. Therefore, when he found out that Khan used Cagematch to illustrate his bookings, it made the former Raw General Manager react on X.

Many fans also feel the same as they went to X and trolled the AEW President. Like Bischoff, many were surprised to hear Khan reference Cagematch for AEW bookings and ratings. This is what they said.

Fans were also disappointed with Tony Khan for mentioning Cagematch during the recent media call.

People believe the reviews of the Cagematch database are not supportable.
