The wrestling world is still talking about Mercedes Mone‘s debut in All Elite Wrestling. The American professional wrestler and actress was the epicenter of the AEW special Dynamite: Big Business a few days ago, making official her link with the company for the next few years.
In the days following her appearance, the CEO went on a tour of various media outlets to promote her appearances at her new home. But it doesn’t look like she actually needs to go places to get publicity, either a good one or a bad one. As she recently managed to make news on Twitter.

A fan of Mercedes Mone uploaded a picture of himself watching Mone on AEW Dynamite on TV. And the TV appeared to be a really old CRT. So Mone, being all so generous, tweeted and asked him if his birthday is near so she could gift him a TV. On being told that they’re way past his birthday, she gifted him a TV as a “Christmas gift” instead. As shown in a thankful tweet uploaded by the user with a new box of television in hand.

However, it looks like not every move of generosity garners you good publicity. The gesture still managed to attract the attention of some fans, who had their fair share of criticisms to share.
Fans call out the former Sasha Banks
When you’re a top AEW talent, Tony Khan gets really generous when it comes to fighter pay. So it ticked fans when Mone, rather than gifting her fan with a decent television from a known brand, decided to gift her fan with a $140 Vizio. Calling out her move, here are some of the reactions:
A user felt that it is embarrassing to flex buying a fan a $150 television.
40 inch vizo what a big purchase that was lmaooooo… bro that can’t be real, if it is that’s embarrassing that tv is like $150…there’s no way Mercedes would try to flex and buy a fan literally the cheapest tv from target

One user wondered if she couldn’t afford a TV from a better brand.
she couldnt even afford a sony or samsung tv 😭

This user went as far as calling it a heel move.
Really Mercedes a Vizio? You’re a superstar with loads of money and you go Vizio. That’s a heel move and a half

One fan had a fun suggestion for the man who received the TV.
he should turn it on to watch WWE instead just for getting him a damn Vizio
