Well, the news around Mercedes Mone is that she is highly likely to debut in AEW soon. Meltzer said, “There is talk that Mercedes Monè’s AEW debut will be played up extremely big and that announcement could be soon.” As per the statement, AEW is planning big for the debut of Sasha Banks who is currently NJPW’s Women’s Champion.

The news about Mercedes Mone comes amidst the rumours of her debut in WWE due to various sources feeling confident about her return. A few days ago, Dave Meltzer stated on WON radio that there is a slim chance that she may return to WWE as Mercedes Mone.

Another leading source, PWInsider.com also confirmed the news regarding her return to WWE by stating, “The last thing heard (which was around Christmas week) was that communications have opened between WWE and the former Sasha Banks about a potential return.

Fellow NJPW superstar has a similar fate

While Mercedes Mone is an established wrestling superstar who was formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, Okada is a NJPW legend who is looking forward to developing a career outside the promotion. Meltzer said, “Regarding Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone, the belief from the AEW side is that both will be starting soon.

It is known that WWE wants to add both Okada and Mone to their ranks. However, both superstars have plenty of reason to head to AEW as well. Meltzer explained recently how AEW was able to match WWE in terms of pay, thus it eventually boils down to the personal preferences of wrestlers.
