Mercedes Mone, FKA Sasha Banks, will soon arrive at All Elite Wrestling officially, specifically at the AEW Dynamite Big Business show that has been announced recently. The show is set to take place on March 13 at the TD Garden in Boston, Mone’s hometown.

And it seems like right before her return, she has been taking inspiration from veterans of the sport. In this case, it’s none other than 16-time world champion John Cena. The Hollywood star’s words seem to have inspired the ‘Boss’. But what did he say? Let’s find out.

John Cena is known for being quite random when it comes to posting stuff on social media. And what else has been unpredictable? Sasha Banks’ career. From leaving the WWE while being a top star to joining their rivals, she too has carved out a truly ‘Boss’ image. And now it looks like she too finds Mr.Cena relatable, as she recently reposted a motivational tweet by the 46-year-old that read, “Work to be open enough to process that no concept idea or theory is sacred beyond challenge.”

Well, the words surely motivated the 5x women’s champion, who can relate to the words as she gears up for a new challenge in AEW. While there is no doubt that there won’t be much nervousness for the woman who ruled the WWE as a top-tier superstar, one must not forget that she will be making her debut after being on the sidelines for quite a while as she suffered an injury during her stint in Japan. And that might prove to be a hurdle, as it might hinder her from bringing her A-game.

The ankle injury of doom

Mone’s ankle injury occurred during one of the best moments of her professional career, at the height of her recent stint in Japan. She took part in five matches, winning the IWGP Women’s Championship in her debut after beating KAIRI at the NJPW Battle in the Valley in 2023. Mone lost the title just two months later to Mayu Iwatami at the STARDOM All-Star Grand Queendom. Her defeat came as a result of the end of her original agreement with Bushiroad. However, soon both parties began talks to sign a new contract.

Her last match took place at NJPW Resurgence 2023, where Mone would have become the first NJPW Strong Women’s Champion in history. However, her injury during the tournament finals forced a script change on the fly. But now she is all fit and ready to carve out a name for herself as a top star on the AEW roster as well. What do you think? Will Mercedes Mone be able to prove herself in the Tony Khan-led promotion?
