It was last week on Dynamite that Sting officially announced that his last wrestling match will be at AEW Revolution in March 2024. Revolution was also where Sting fought his first-ever match in AEW back in 2021. During his speech last week, Sting brought up big names like Scott Steiner, Lex Luger, and even ‘The Hulkster’ Hulk Hogan.

But then he went on to say a special thank you to Ric Flair for putting him on the map after their legendary match at Clash of the Champions in 1988. This caught Tony Khan’s attention and a few days later, he announced on Rampage that he would present a special gift to Sting at Dynamite.

That special gift turned out to be none other than ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. The last time these 2 legends wrestled in a match was back in 2011 when they were in TNA Wrestling. And now they both have the opportunity of a lifetime to face each other again one last time.

The last time Flair wrestled in the ring was on 31st July 2022 in an NWA event. He teamed up with his son-in-law Andrade El Ídolo to face Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. Flair and Ídolo won that match. So will Sting face Flair in his retirement match at AEW Revolution? Only time will tell.

But going back to the last time these 2 legends met in the ring, what was the final outcome?
