With pro wrestling seeing one of its most profitable events this week, many believe that the industry is at its peak. Most notably, WWE World Champion Seth Rollins revealed that AEW’s recent record-breaking event proves that the wrestling industry is faring better than it ever has. The World Heavyweight Champion lauded the efforts of the older generation of wrestlers. But, he also said that the current talent in the industry far outweighs any of the previous generations.
Wrestling business is booming, says Seth Rollins
AEW’s All In PPV in London was a grand success for the company. On top of high-octane action, a crowd of over 81,000 packed Wembley Stadium to cement AEW’s status as one of the major forces in the pro wrestling industry. This is despite Triple H referring to them as a secondary promotion during the documentary of Cody Rhodes. But far from that notion, Rollins is quick to acknowledge them as a major player.

“We are in the boom. You have to understand, there is another company that just put 80,000 people in a stadium for one night. A week before that, we sold 90,000 tickets to WrestleMania, broke the all-time gate on the first day,” said Rollins, speaking with Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick on the WWE After The Bell podcast.
The 37-year-old said the business has boomed way faster than previous generations. Pointing to the newer cadre of pro wrestlers, including himself, he said they have been able to learn from the mistakes of their seniors, especially in pushing the business to become bigger and rake in more money.

Speaking on the podcast, Rollins goes on to talk about how much more the industry has improved. Particularly, how younger generations of pro wrestlers have learned from the mistakes of the old guard. “The longevity for our generation is going to be better than the generation before us because we learned and got smarter. The business as a whole, the money, it’s all there,” he said.
The WWE World Champion believes that based on previous experience, the industry has also become way healthier than it used to be.
