Dolph Ziggler has been known for his in-ring ability and is considered one of the best sellers in the WWE. But his firing from the WWE has shocked wrestling fans. However, one AEW superstar has taken on the opportunity to challenge Ziggler into a feud.

AEW superstar Shawn Spears took to X on 21st September and tweeted, “I’m a major @HEELZiggler guy. He’s the man. Now, wrestle me.” Spears’ tweet came out after WWE released a few superstars from their main roster following the release of many WWE staff as a part of their cost-cutting procedures.

Shawn Spears appreciated Ziggler’s talents and wanted to face him as a heel. Formerly known as Tye Dillinger in WWE, Spears is working for Tony Khan’s promotion AEW other than WWE.

Ziggler has mostly worked as a heel in the WWE but his stints as a baby face are also well known. His in-ring talent along with his selling skills were well known in the company. However, WWE started using him sporadically on TV in the last few years and most of his appearances were to push upcoming talents over. The most notable one in recent memory was with LA Knight.

Ziggler was released after serving WWE for over 19 years, from 2004 to 2023. Within these 19 years, he went on to win the WWE Championship two times, Money in the Bank once, IC Championship 6 times, US Championship 2 times, along with SmackDown and RAW tag Championships. But where does he go from here?

Where will Dolph Ziggler go from here?

One of the probable options for him would be to shift to AEW. Just like many of his fallen compatriots like Dean Ambrose and Daniel Bryan, AEW is the preferred option. In fact, his brother Ryan Nemeth had teased on 19th September about Ziggler joining AEW, where Shawn Spears already seems to be waiting for him. But Ziggler is not available for bookings before 20th December as his contract has a 90-day non-compete period.
