Pro wrestling outfit AEW President Tony Khan is known for being a really great creative thinker. Recently, however, his decision-making skills aren’t quite giving the desired payout they should. This has not only led to a decline in AEW’s rating compared to WWE but also paved the way for an annoyed fanbase.
Now, Tony Khan has made another announcement involving one of his biggest AEW stars, Chris Jericho. While this was supposed to draw appreciation from fans, the move has actually backfired. In fact, fans have attacked the wrestling promoter for the his booking decision and stirred a storm on social media.

AEW has been experiencing a decline in several important metrics recently. While the constant rating war losses against WWE are costing the company, its ticket sales have also taken a hit. Despite the success AEW enjoys, it is still a very new company and needs to not just welcome new fans, but retain old ones. For this, Tony Khan added a tweet on X saying, “TOMORROW Huntsville, AL Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TBS, 8pm ET/7pm CT. Atlantis Jr vs “Lionheart” Chris Jericho. Over 30 years after @Atlantis_CMLL’s tag team with Corazon de Leon, he’ll be in his son’s corner vs his former partner when Atlantis Jr fights @IAmJericho.” Given the storylines weaved by AEW so far, this was a great addition.

Tony Khan has strengthened his partnership with CMLL by featuring talent from the business in recent weeks. Atlantis Jr. currently holds the title of NWA World Historic Light Heavyweight Champion and is also part of the CMLL World Trios Champions team.
Atlantis is a very accomplished wrestler with CMLL, having performed internationally. He has held many titles within the organization. He has won the CMLL World Tag Team Championship five times, the CMLL World Trios Championship four times, and the World Light Heavyweight Championship twice.
