The latest news from the AEW world is that Jeff Hardy suffered an injury a few weeks ago while fighting with Sammy Guevara. It was later revealed that Hardy ended up breaking his nose and underwent surgery for the same. While the injury might not be severe, the incident resulted in Guevara’s suspension.
However, for some reason, Tony Khan decided not to reveal it to anyone. Jeff Hardy’s brother, Matt Hardy revealed how he got to know about this development despite being so closely involved with the case.

In the latest episode of his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, he talked about how he got to know about Sammy Guevara’s suspension from AEW. He said, “Just gonna say the whole thing about Sammy (Guevara) being suspended was new to me.” Hardy added that just like any pro wrestling fan, he got to know about the suspension through Sean Ross Sapp. He concluded the topic by saying, “That was all new to me, but you know it is what it is, I guess.”
Jeff Hardy and Sammy Guevara sparred in a No DQ match at the AEW Dynamite episode 135. During the fight, Hardy ended up receiving a knee on his nose, due to which his nose broke. While the Enigmatic Soul insisted that the match should go on, Guevara did something that went against the protocols of AEW.
According to reports by Sean Ross Sapp, Geuvara broke the concussion protocols that are followed at AEW. While the details are scarce, it is said Geuavar was not supposed to use his finisher after Hardy got injured to avoid further complications. Guevara decided to go against the protocol and thus got suspended.
While Guevara’s suspension might be news to Matt Hardy, this is not the first time that the 30-year-old star has faced suspension at AEW.
Sammy Guevara and his history with suspensions
This is the star’s third AEW suspension adding to a long list of disciplinary action taken against him. His previous two suspensions were something that raised quite a few eyebrows. His first suspension came back in 2020 when a video from 2016 featuring the Spanish God resurfaced. In the clip, he was seen making some remarks on Mercedes Mone f.k.a Sasha Banks. After the clip went viral, he issued a public apology and even Mone stated that things are good between the two.
