Seems like it’s that time of the year when wrestlers start jumping ship. As we all know, wrestlers typically leave a promotion due to financial or creative differences with the management. Fans are speculating that ‘The Rated R Superstar’ might just join AEW as the WWE rejected his requests in the new contract.
But as one superstar might crossover to AEW, another champion from there might join the WWE to maintain the balance.

MJF is AEW’s top star right now. He is the current AEW World Champion and has been so since 2022 after he defeated Jon Moxley at the PPV Full Gear. He will defend his title at ‘All In’ at the Wembley Stadium against Adam Cole in front of a packed stadium of 85,000+ AEW fans.
But just as everything looks all hunky dory on the outside, things are not the same within. MJF’s contract with the AEW is set to end on January 1, 2024. As this time nears, both wrestling promotions might be making the calculations as to what amount to pitch to MJF in order to retain or employ his services.
“Realistically, I know there’s a lot of money that’s going to be thrown my way from both sides (AEW & WWE).
I’m not accepting anything under seven figures, I won’t even make eye contact with a contract that’s under seven figures.”

But MJF has made it pretty clear that he will go to the promotion that offers him a 7 figure contract. On his recent appearance on the YouTube show Hot Ones with Adam Cole, he expressed that he was well aware that both promotions have their eye on him.
He said, “Realistically, I know there’s a lot of money that’s going to be thrown my way from both sides. I’m not accepting anything under seven figures, I won’t even make eye contact with a contract that’s under seven figures”.
But as one AEW star is thinking of moving to any promotion that shows him the moolah, another star just pledged his allegiance to the brand for life.
Darby Allin says he will be with AEW forever
Very few stars stay with one wrestling promotion throughout their entire career. Like The Undertaker, Steve Austin, or even ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar.

It all depends on the creative freedom the wrestler gets and also the financial satisfaction. Both these criteria seem to have been satisfied in the case of Darby Allin. Recently he expressed his love for the promotion. He also highlighted his fondness for Tony Khan’s excellent management of the wrestlers so much that he plans to stay there for life. Although he spoke about how the TNT championship had lost its value in recent times, he still respects the brand.
