We are just a few weeks away from WrestleMania 40, WWE’s flagship event. And fans as always, are expecting full-fledged action as well as a few surprises. And sometimes the surprise is the shock appearance of a wrestler not in the WWE presently.
One of the top surprises on the wish list of fans of the TKO company is the return of Maxwell Jacob Friedman. The American professional wrestler left his future open in 2024 on multiple occasions, assuring that he would start a “bidding war” after January 1. In anticipation of the world premiere of the movie “The Iron Claw,” a red carpet was held last year where MJF appeared alongside some WWE Superstars. One of the wrestlers with whom he exchanged words was John Cena, one of the greatest figures in the history of the company and who has declared, on more than one occasion, that he is an admirer of the former AEW world champion.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, John Cena revealed that during the premiere of the movie ‘The Iron Claw’, he had the opportunity to meet with MJF. During their meeting, Cena urged MJF to consider joining WWE. He told MJF “Maybe one day we can get you to play for the right team,” as he believes he could be a perfect fit for the company. Cena also praised MJF’s work and expressed his surprise at the talent and professionalism of the former AEW World Champion.
