In any pro wrestling promotion, its championships are always the ‘holy grail’ for all wrestlers. They put in all their blood, sweat, and tears to reach that coveted spot. As in the WWE, the top 2 Championships right now are the World Heavyweight Championship and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Similarly for AEW too, there are two Championships that are desired, they are the AEW World Championship and AEW TNT Championship. But one top AEW star is disgruntled with Tony Khan’s creative decisions regarding one of the titles.

AEW introduced the AEW TNT Championship in 2020 and Cody Rhodes was the inaugural champion after defeating Lance Archer at PPV ‘Double or Nothing’. He went on to win the championship another 2 times until he finally left AEW in 2022.

But at AEW’s PPV ‘Full Gear’, Darby Allin defeated Rhodes, thus becoming the new champion. Five months later he lost the title to the late Brodie Lee. Post that the title has changed many hands, once even came back to Allin and is currently with Luchasaurus who won it by beating Wardlow on the first episode of Collision.

But recently on AEW Control Center Darby Allin expressed his distress as he felt that the once coveted title is of no value anymore. He even went on to call it a ‘Hot Potato.’ He said, “I’m gonna be honest when I say this. To me, the TNT Championship used to mean something. Within the last year, I’ve felt it lost all its value. I remember the people that used to hold it. Guys like Cody, guys like Brodie Lee, myself. Back then, it meant something. Now, it’s like a hot potato.”

And it is not just him, but most of the wrestlers in the AEW locker room are not very pleased with Tony Khan’s creative management.

AEW’s biggest PPV ‘All In’ happens at the Wembley Stadium in London on 27th August. The capacity for the event is 88,000 with 80,000+ tickets already sold.

But in spite of such a positive response from the UK fans, AEW has officially announced only 4 matches. Out of which, the promotion announced the main event between MJF and Adam Cole at Dynamite’s 200th episode anniversary.

Hence, the entire locker room is very frustrated with Tony Khan, as they don’t know if they are part of ‘All In’ with just one week to go. For most AEW stars, this is equivalent to ‘WrestleMania I’ because of the sheer scale of the event. But do you guys agree with Darby Allin that the AEW TNT Championship has lost its value in recent years?
