While it is more familiar for the wrestling world to see WWE stars joining AEW more often than not, we also get to see the reverse sometimes. One of the key co-executive members of AEW, Cody Rhodes initiated this trend last year, returning to the Stamford-based company during WrestleMania 38. He has been on a roll since then. Rhodes’s firm decision made fans believe that many AEW stars could make their way to WWE in the future.
A top AEW star is speculated to jump ship to the Stamford-based promotion as his contract nears its expiry date.

AEW original, Kenny Omega, is one of the marquee wrestlers that the WWE universe expects to see in the promotion next. A prime reason for the speculation was his clear disinterest in working with CM Punk in AEW.
However, these developments lead to an intense discussion regarding Omega’s AEW contract status and WWE potentially signing him. Although a few days back, The Cleaner had his say on the ongoing rumor, it couldn’t give much to the fans to rely on. Fans finally got their questions answered as Dave Meltzer spilled the beans by providing an update on his AEW contract status.

Reliable journalist Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Omega is yet to sign a new contract with his current promotion. Dismissing Konnan’s recent assumption, the wrestling veteran noted, “Konnan did an interview, and it got people thinking that Kenny Omega had signed a new contract and Kenny Omega is under contract to AEW, his contract was extended because he was out for, I think, nine months due to injuries. So, I believe that he is under contract until around November or December and that’s the situation, but there is no new deal that’s been signed.”

Another major AEW star teased joining WWE
Cody Rhodes’s incredible push in WWE has prompted many AEW stars to consider joining their rival promotion in the future. The Mexican luchador, Bandido is definitely one of them.
Bandido turned down an offer from Triple H last year. But it seems like now he is reconsidering his options. During a recent interview with so catch, the renowned wrestler provided a candid confession by saying, “At some point, I’d like to go to WWE. Not at this moment, but I hope after, later.
