WWE legend shares his predicament as fires continue to burn Maui
While the exact time when the fire started hasn’t been noted, several reports said that the island reported the emergency on Wednesday, August 9. The devastation has left the resort city without electricity and a mobile network.

This was confirmed by WWE legend Goldust. Cody Rhodes’ half-brother said he and his wife were forced to live without electricity and food since Tuesday morning, following the crisis.
Goldust, who now plies his trade as Dustin Rhodes, his original name, in the AEW, also prayed for the safety and wellbeing of others. “A brush fire(one of many), destroyed Lahaina just 2 miles from where we were staying. We evacuated to other side of Island and were lucky to find accommodations,” part of his tweet on August 10 read.
Prayers for everyone in Maui including my wife and I. We were without power or food since early Tuesday morning. A brush fire(one of many), destroyed Lahaina just 2 miles from where we were staying. We evacuated to other side of Island and were lucky to find accommodations. Been…

Meanwhile, several tourist attractions, including a banyan tree in Lahaina’s Old Town, have been burnt down. This tree was reportedly planted in 1873 and stood there until Wednesday. According to reports, 11,000 people have been evacuated so far by authorities.
Fortunately, both Dustin and his wife, Ta-rel Marie Runnels, are safe. His post also gained traction online.

Rhodes has been a much-loved figure in the pro wrestling world. As Goldust, he wowed the WWE Universe until his exit from the promotion in 2019. Following that, he has enthralled the AEW faithful and continues to do so.
The WWE legend was holidaying with his wife in the picturesque town when the calamity struck. Fellow AEW peers Jade Cargill and Renee Paquette, who conducts interviews backstage, shared their love for Rhodes on Twitter.

This user empathized with Rhodes and shared their story.
I feel it brother. I live on an Air Force base and we were without power for over two days, with a wildfire that happened to occur within the same timeframe. Main concern were the pets obviously but it also sucked that we had to abandon over $500 worth of food in the fridge lol

Another person, who identified as a McDonald’s employee, wrote she’s unsure about the future of her workplace, citing the fire as a reason.
Glad you guys could find other accommodations @dustinrhodes
Definitely prayers up for ALL OF US here on Maui… The @McDonalds franchise that I work for has a location in Kihei (where some of the fires are) & while I heard we’re hoping to open on Friday, now we don’t know 😖😢💔

Along with the town, the fire also took away a part of this person’s personal life as evidenced by their revelation.
Be safe. Honeymooned in Lahaina and have been back 4 times. Love that town. So sad it’s gone.
