CM Punk has been in a tough spot for the past couple of weeks. Since his contract termination from AEW, the star is nowhere to be seen. Even though the star made a couple of appearances on CFFC as a commentator, his affiliation with any of the pro wrestling promotions is still in the dark. There was a wave of rumors going around which pointed out at his return to WWE. But the promotion had snubbed those rumors. Now a veteran from WWE said that there is a high possibility that CM Punk could be making his way to WWE.

Is CM Punk on his way to WWE?

On his podcast, Keepin’ It 100, WWE star Konnan was joined by other co-hosts. On the podcast, they answer the questions asked by pro wrestling fans. A fan asked whether the Cuban-American wrestler is in any sort of contact with CM Punk. To this, he replied, “No. I sent out a message to him through Rey Mysterio and he never answered back and that in itself told me he probably didn’t want to come down. He further added, “I have a feeling he is going to WWE but I could be wrong”, stating that fans could see him very soon.

AEW organized one of its biggest pay-per-view events, AEW All In on August 27, 2023. However, at this event, CM Punk got into backstage altercations with Jack Perry. Due to this, both the stars were suspended for an undisclosed amount of duration. Later on, Tony Khan revealed that he felt threatened by CM Punk during the All In debacle and announced his contract termination on September 1, 2023. While Jack Perry is still suspended, Punk is without a promotion.

Since his release from AEW, fans have been wondering what’s next for the 44-year-old star. However, it was revealed that talks were going on in WWE. 

Will WWE get CM Punk back?

As per reports by PWI, talks were going on in WWE about bringing CM Punk back. However, the roster was divided over this fact. On one hand, few people agreed to the fact that he will help in raking ratings and views considering his star power. Others were against the idea due to his past with the promotion.

Earlier this month, Dave Meltzer had an update. According to him, WWE has supposedly declined his request to come back to the promotion due to his history. But Punk and WWE have been dropping hints all over the place.

The star appeared as a commentator on CFFC in September this year. While talking with the other commentators he suggested the idea that they should keep an after-show discussion to discuss the highlights. One commentator asked sarcastically is it that he has too much time now as he is released from AEW. He took it in a good way, laughed at it, and said that he has approximately two months. This started a debate online as the time he made this comment was almost two months away from the WWE Survivor Series which will be held in the star’s hometown.

Moreover, WWE has also mentioned a few of Punk’s references in their programming signaling a possible return. Fans will await his grand homecoming at Survivor Series and Konnan’s comments add further fuel to the fire.
