The former WWE Divas Champion said she was glad to “finally be working for a boss that listens to me.” Though she didn’t mention any name, it was understood the comment was directed toward Vince McMahon. However, in a recent podcast, the AEW star said she regrets cutting the promo while making a startling revelation.

During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Saraya said she was asked to say the line about her former boss not listening to her. “The one thing I do wish I didn’t say, I got asked to say a certain sentence, the sentence where I was like, ‘Finally, a boss that listens to me’,” she revealed.

The wrestler said she wished she hadn’t taken the shot as the WWE has helped her a lot.

“There is no reason to take that low-hanging fruit and I feel that caused a lot of tribalism and negative reaction. There are some things you wish you didn’t say, and that’s one of them,” she said.

Her promo wasn’t well received across the wrestling world as fans slammed her for biting the hand that previously fed her.

Addressing the outrage, Saraya, however, said she was playing a character and asked people to be quiet. This comes as an ambiguous stance on the issue. While the wrestler said she’s sorry, she was also quick to dump the blame on her gimmick.

Saraya had questioned talent’s freedom within WWE

Former WWE Diva Champions Nikki and Brie Bella announced on March 14 that going forward, they would be known as the Garcia Twins. Nikki and Brie- collectively known as the Bella Twins- severed their connection with the Stamford-based company with the announcement.

Reacting to the announcement, Saraya sent out a cryptic tweet, which had fans fuming.

“Welcome to freedom ladies,” part of her tweet read, suggesting that Vince McMahon’s promotion curbed talent’s liberty.
