The AEW Big Business event delivered on the massive expectations that were placed on it. Apart from a strong match card, the anticipation was at an all-time high due to the fact that Mercedes Mone f.k.a Sasha Banks would debut at AEW. This wish of fans came true last night and it was announced that The CEO is All Elite now. However, someone else played an important role in hyping up the show for fans.
For weeks, John Cena’s father, John Cena Sr, was posting tweets in support of the show. However, one question arises. Why is he supporting AEW when John Cena is in WWE? What is the relationship between the President of AEW and the legendary pro wrestling commentator?

A few hours before Big Business aired on March 13, Cena Sr. posted a tweet trying to hype up fans for the show. He wrote, “So, will it be business as usual in the city of Boston tonight?? Or, will it be Big Busine$$, mixed with mayhem and chaos?” Along with that, he wrote that all questions will be answered at the TD Garden and he is looking forward to seeing fans there.

He posted something similar a few weeks ago and also promoted the 2023 AEW Blood & Guts, which was held in Boston, Massachusetts. One pattern that can be noticed here is that he promotes every pro wrestling event that takes place in Boston. However, that is not enough for showing up at AEW events.
Yes, Cena Sr has been spotted on numerous AEW events where he could be seen talking with Tony Khan. Apart from that, while he never made an official appearance in the AEW ring, he was once associated with AEW’s notorious stable.

Was John Cena Sr a leader of an AEW stable?
Back in 2022, a stable called The Inner Circle was dominating the scenes of AEW. Cena Sr. was asked in an interview whether he will be revealed as the leader of the stable or at least a part of it in the future. To this, he gave quite an ambiguous answer. However, he did add that he shares a good relationship with Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho. While Rhodes is currently in WWE, he and Jericho were the most influential stars at AEW. They might be the reason why Khan got to meet with John Cena Sr. in the first place.
