Last week’s Tuesday Night War is something that fans are talking about even today. WWE clearly beat AEW by a sizable margin, but almost a week later, stars are talking about what could have been done differently to turn the tide. One such AEW star had suggested to Khan to get in celebs like Shaquille O’Neal, Mike Tyson & even rapper Snoop Dogg.

He wanted AEW to be at the top and go all guns blazing.

Having celebrities for a pro wrestling show is not a new idea. WCW tried the same thing to get an upper hand in the ratings during the Monday Night Wars in the late 90s. They had stars like Mr. T, Dennis Rodman, and even Shaquille O’Neal way back in 1995.

WWE has also had its fair share of calling in celebrities and even former presidents to jazz up the show. Stars like Floyd Mayweather, Bad Bunny, and even ex-US President Donald Trump have shown up on WWE shows and PLE. Even the celebrities that Chris Jericho suggested to Khan have already made their appearances in the WWE.

But Tony Khan rejected Jericho’s suggestion, as he believed more in his own stars. In his recent interview with The Messenger, Chris Jericho spoke about the incident. He said, “It was just an opportunity to stick it to us with stunt casting. I told Tony, ‘Well if you want to fire back, bring in Shaq and Snoop Dogg and those types of guys, Mike Tyson. But Tony didn’t do that. We relied on our show and our guys and our girls, and that’s the way it’s always been for us”.

Towards the end, Jericho mentioned that he believed AEW’s show was much better than that of the WWE. He added, “And our show was better than theirs, quite frankly. So, it doesn’t bother me”. To be honest, nothing seems to bother Jericho, not even Tony Khan’s recent tirade on Twitter.

But going back to the celebrities, Shaquille O’Neal has already made an appearance in AEW.

AEW has been trying to one-up the WWE right from its initiation. And as part of that plan, they roped in Shaquille O’Neal for one of their main event matches.

Back in March 2021, Shaquille O’Neal teamed up with Jade Cargill to take on Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet. This was the 2nd time that Shaq took part in a wrestling match. The time before that was at Wrestlemania 32 in 2016, where he took part in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

But going back to the AEW tag team battle, fans will never forget that match as Rhodes jumped from the top of the ropes, pushing the giant Shaq right through a table. But that wasn’t enough, as the powerful Cargill eventually pinned Red Velvet to win the battle. With all of that in mind, what are your opinions on Chris Jericho suggesting Tony Khan to call in celebrities to win the Tuesday Night War?
