Seth Rollins successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura at Payback. Now what’s next for ‘The Visionary’? According to the buzz going around on social media, he wants to lock horns with a recently expelled AEW star, whom he humiliated eight months ago.

By now you must have guessed that the AEW star in question here is none other than CM Punk. He returned to AEW just two and a half months before and Tony Khan has already fired him again. At AEW’s August PPV, All In in London, he got into a backstage fight with Jack Perry. This led to his suspension from the company.

Some WWE stars believe WWE can capitalize on CM Punk’s AEW firing

After his suspension, the ‘Second City Saint’ once again became the hot topic of discussion in the wrestling universe. The latest report from PWInsider states that Punk was an immediate topic of discussion within WWE after his AEW firing. It was also revealed that top talents in WWE had a chat over this subject.

PWInsider tells the fans that some WWE superstars couldn’t believe that Punk got fired again, while others thought it would be the perfect opportunity to make more money if WWE hired him again. One particular top-tier talent was all in for this idea and fans believe it is Seth “Freakin” Rollins.

When PWInsider posted their report, fans were quick to point out that Rollins’ is the top-tier talent who wants Punk back in WWE. The WWE Universe also claimed that a Punk vs. Rollins match would definitely be a marquee match and would bring tons of money and attraction for the Stamford-based promotion.

‘The Visionary’ did an interview with WrestlingInc ahead of this year’s Royal Rumble, where he was asked whether he would like to see Punk return to WWE. As a reply to this question, he chose to humiliate Punk by calling him a cancer and a jerk.

He asked Punk to stay as far away from him and WWE as possible. While some might say that Rollins’ comments stemmed from the fact that he dislikes ‘The Best in the World’, many believe that it was work, a storyline for the future where Punk would return to have a rivalry with him.
