Since she debuted on NXT on October 25, 2022, Raine has been the target of trolling online. Being the daughter of The Rock, it’s no secret that the wrestler would be subject to major criticism. However, wrestling fans have mercilessly trolled her despite her limited screen time and matches. Despite her firing back at the trolls, they relentlessly continue to have a go at her. Finally, taking a break from NXT, she posted something on her social media that had fans questioning the meaning of it.

Taking to Instagram, she posted images during her break from NXT. The images had a caption saying, “the real world 🦃.” As she is part of The Schism stable, the gimmick is allowing wrestlers to see the real world. Now, with a caption like this, fans were wondering what she meant. However, her comment section was not free of trolls.

The trolling of Raine started when she announced her in-ring name. Fans questioned why she didn’t use her father’s last name to honor him. Some took to calling out Raine for adopting a ring name, instead of going by her given name, Simone Johnson. Over time, Raine’s mic skills and in-ring ability were also questioned.

Raine made her in-ring debut on April 1, 2023, at NXT’s Stand & Deliver event. Following this, she had a solo match against Ivy Nile on June 6, 2023. With Raine losing both matches, trolls used her debut as more fuel for the fire.

Raine’s meaning of entering The Real World

According to the gimmick of The Schism, Joe Gacy has opened the eyes of The Dyad and Raine. They follow him as a part of a family rather than blind. According to their leader, Gacy, the group aims for inclusion and openness. They wish to open the eyes of their fellow wrestlers. This is something that the group firmly believes in. Raine explained that she joined the group because she felt like she was part of a family.

The stable idea came from the 2003 Horror movie ‘House of Thousand Corpses.’ Keeping the movie in mind, the stable was formed based on family more than anything else. Many have compared the stable to that of the Wyatt Family on the main roster. The caption of the real world could hint at the family aspect of Raine’s vacation away from NXT.
