AEW never leaves an opportunity to add a WWE reference during its shows and events. At first, fans used to enjoy it, but now they are fed up with AEW’s antics to gain audience reaction by using WWE’s name and fame. A similar case just happened today when CM Punk used a John Cena and Hulk Hogan reference at Wembley Stadium.
Today, during one of the biggest events of the Jacksonville-based promotion, Punk fought Samoa Joe with his AEW “Real” World Championship on the line. During the match, he gave a shout-out to Cena and Hogan – two prominent figures in WWE – and it looks like fans are not so happy about it.

His victory over Joe was monumental, but what caught the audience’s attention the most was Punk giving an unexpected shout-out to Cena and Hogan during his match.
During a segment in the match, he performed Cena’s five-knuckle shuffle, followed by Hogan’s iconic leg drop on his opponent. It is not a secret that Punk is a controversial star and it looks like he likes to get on people’s nerves.
