Blood has always been synonymous with wrestling. Blood has been spilled to showcase the intensity of a bout and elevate a revered rivalry. AEW has earned a reputation for taking feuds to the next level with blood being spilled more often than not. It is as scary as it sounds. Tonight, it occurred in AEW Collision with the 36-year-old Trent Beretta who butted heads with Eddie Kingston in a massive AEW Continental Classic Crown Championship Match.

To add to the sensitivity of the angle, the AEW camera spotted Beretta’s mother in attendance. And she was clearly in agony seeing her son suffer.

After a one-week absence, Collision waltzed back to TV for the first time following a jam-packed Worlds End last weekend. Eddie Kingston put his Continental Crown title on the line for the first time, locking horns with Trent Beretta. Beretta came to the battleground strong, earning his title shot after a terrific win at a four-way match on Wednesday’s Dynamite. That said, the match didn’t go in his favor.

After going back and forth for some time, the ex-WWE star fell into Kingston’s trap and suffered a bleeding nose.

We saw his mother watching over him with a concerned face from her seat in the audience.

The match finally came to an end, with Kingston having the last laugh despite a brave comeback of the 36-year-old.

Moving ahead, Beretta can hold his head high for a valiant effort. The AEW star saw a significant rise in his career following an infamous WWE release 10 years back and has grown in spades.

AEW elevated Trent Beretta to greater heights after he departed from WWE

In WWE, Trent Beretta was not more than a below-average performer who barely got any crucial spots and could attain success. Although he was added to the Dudebusters tag team, apart from some incoherent success in ECW, they did not hold the necessary sway to sufficiently catch eyeballs.

His release in 2013 came as a blessing in disguise. It prompted him to have a stronger run in the independent rings in the likes of NJPW and AEW, as a very renowned talent and popular name, specifically in the Best Friends act alongside Chuck Taylor.

However, Beretta had zero grudges toward his previous promotion as he felt he was indeed too naïve to perform under the WWE ring back then and would have done the same if he had been among the higher-ups.
