Cody Rhodes’ Wife Brandi Rhodes Reacts to Rumors of Jade Cargill Signing With WWE: “I Might CrossRhodes Her”

Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes were the face of AEW after leaving the WWE in 2016. Along with the Young Bucks and backing from Tony Khan, they laid the foundations for AEW. While the duo had memorable feuds in AEW, Jade Cargill seems to be following Brandi back to the WWE to ignite their old rivalry.  

In AEW, Brandi was the Chief Brand Officer and participated in occasional matches. One of them was Cargill, who could be next in the pipeline to jump ship to the WWE.

Brandi Rhodes says she’s changed but would still take on Cargill

On the November 18, 2020, episode of AEW Dynamite, Rhodes was interrupted while addressing the fans by a debuting Cargill. To stand up for her man, Brandi came out and confronted Cargill. The confrontation was short, and Cargill left without any drama. However, that same night, Cargill attacked Brandi backstage with the aid of Nyla Rose and Vickie Guerrero. 

Unfortunately, nothing came out of the feud, with the two never facing off against each other. Brandi and her husband left AEW and returned to WWE in 2022. Now part of the WWE, she has yet to make her in-ring debut once again. 

For the past few months, Cargill has expressed her disinterest in AEW. Fans and experts have claimed that the WWE could be eyeing her to join the company. On social media, Public Enemies Podcast posted a clip of the exchange between Brandi and Cargill during her debut. They captioned the video with, “Triple H gotta run back Jade Cargill and Brandi Rhodes in WWE 😭😭.”

Taking to social media, Brandi commented on this video. On X, she said, “I ain’t about this life anymore, but if she rolls up at my studio I might Crossrhodes her 🍑.” She also mentioned that this was one of her favorite moments. Fans began speculating whether or not Brandi was holding back on her debut in the WWE till Cargill arrived. Regardless of the reason, this made fans excited. 

Jade Cargill ready to be a free agent after saying her goodbyes

Many reports suggest Cargill is leaving AEW at the end of her contract. According to Fightful.com, she is not in talks about reworking her contract. Once her deal with AEW is done, she can join any other promotion. Billy Krotchsen said on record that she was teary-eyed during her last match against Kris Statlander, much like a wrestler finishing their last match. If rumors are to be believed, she will join the NXT developmental stage to introduce her to the WWE universe before pushing her to the main roster.

While neither AEW nor Cargill are coming to any agreement, the WWE universe is excited. With her contract ending in a matter of weeks, fans are expecting some positive news from the WWE. Many fans have also claimed that Cargill said her goodbyes during this week’s taping of Rampage. Even Dave Meltzer commented on her babyface-like demeanor after her last match. “It very much felt like she’s saying her farewell,” Meltzer said.
