The controversial life of Vince McMahon

Since purchasing the WWE from his father, Vince McMahon Sr., in 1982, McMahon Jr. has run things with an iron fist. Unfortunately, his management of the WWE has not been without controversy. The most famous being the 1994 steroid trial. McMahon was investigated for allegedly buying and supplying steroids to his wrestlers, which was a criminal offense. This was followed by the tragic death of Owen Hart at a PPV event in 1999.

Controversy followed McMahon into the new millennium, with the first being the Chris Benoit case in 2007. Following this was the 2019 WWE worker’s rights issue. Since WWE workers are under contract, there were allegations that they were not provided health insurance or workers’ compensation benefits. However, most of these were settled outside court.
