After almost a decade, CM Punk returned to the WWE and had his first match at a live event. Returning to the WWE after 9 years away from the company, Punk aims to reestablish his place at the top by winning the Royal Rumble next.
And if there’s one thing that his return proved to everyone, it is that he is still one of the fan favorites. While in AEW, WWE often witnessed chants of ‘CM Punk’ by the crowd. And with his departure from AEW, the fans are making sure the company remembers his name, with one even going as far as to troll the company in their live event.

One cannot deny the role AEW played in the career of ‘The Voice of the Voiceless’. He joined the organization in 2021 and even won the AEW World Championship twice. But if there’s one thing that follows the 45-year-old apart from the massive crowd support he brings, it is controversies.
And even though his conduct led to being let go from AEW in September 2023, his fans still got his back. In a recent AEW Collision event, a fan brought in a placard to troll the company and remind them of ‘The Voice of the Voiceless’. The placard read, “Just came out of a six month coma and came to see C.M Punk”

So it is safe to say that AEW is getting the ‘WWE treatment’ when Punk left the company nine years ago. Despite all the hate he manages to gather backstage, his fans sure never stop following “The Cult of Personality”. So much is the support for Punk, that he recently had to apologize for well, being too much in demand.

Punk’s much-anticipated return to Survivor Series took the wrestling world by storm. The comeback has solidified him as a top attraction for WWE, and recent evidence for this is the fact that he has already claimed the top spot in terms of Pro Wrestling Tee’s merchandise sales. In fact, the demand for his merchandise was so high that he had to apologize to his fans for it getting sold out!
In December 2023, on his Instagram stories, Punk shared two WWE merchandise options, including an autographed 8″ x 10″ photo from Survivor Series 2023. And it took no time for them to get sold out on the WWE Store. The move touched the ‘Straight Edge superstar’, who, in a display of humility and gratitude, apologized to his fans for the merchandise being sold out.
