AEW Takes a Page From WWE as Dustin Rhodes’ Worlds End Booking Echoes Cody Rhodes’ Approach

In wrestling, injury is perhaps the most sensitive thing to deal with. Where most of the time superstars legit end up hurting themselves in the process, there is a popular term called injury angle as well, where the kayfabe manufactures the hurt for the sake of developing a storyline. So there’s a skinny line to be maintained in the time of differencing between the two. WWE made us realize it well with Cody Rhodes’s multiple injury angle bookings.

Now, it seems like AEW adopted the same and applied it to his brother, Dustin Rhodes, who was in a feud with Swerve Strickland at Worlds End tonight.

AEW adopted a popular bookings technique from WWE to bridge a resemblance between Cody Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes

Dustin Rhodes booked himself at tonight’s intense fight against Strickland as part of a last-minute change. He replaced an injured Keith Lee and stepped up into the ring but ironically he was left injured over and above. But unlike Lee, his was merely a Kayfabe injury.

During the highly physical match, Swerve Strickland launched a vicious attack on Dustin Rhodes at ringside, hitting with a dropkick on the steel steps. A cinder block is put on Rhodes’ leg afterward while connected with the stomp.

Medical officials promptly attended to check with an injured Rhodes.

Despite Rhodes’ desperate attempt, AEW made Strickland the winner while putting the other through the injury angle as his brother underwent in WWE during numerous crucial matches with the likes of Brock Lesnar, Shinsuke Nakamura, Damian Priest, etc.

One of the major injury angles WWE did on the American Nightmare was back in June he has been seen performing with a broken arm after receiving a blow from Brock Lesnar.

The prolonged rivalry between Rhodes and Lesnar was no short or phenomenal. Following the devastating loss at WrestleMania, WWE pitched Rhodes against The Beast in an intense storyline. During a feud in Raw, Lesner was booked to launch multiple attacks on Rhodes. As a result, he came out in a sling and carried it on and off the ring for a long time to make it look as realistic as possible.

Apart from that, Cody took many more tears to his body as part of the angle from Damian Priest, Nakamura, etc.
