While in conversation with Alex McCarthy of Inside the Ropes, The American Dragon decided to give a bit of insight into how he feels about Punk and his feelings after his firing. He said, “I’m just a part of the disciplinary committee and we had to take the action that we had to take. The whole thing was hard.” This implied that even though the decision was a difficult one for him, he had to make it.

Further speaking about Punk, he said, “I really like Punk, and I have a lot of respect for Punk.” He further added that he believes Punk had been an integral part of AEW and made significant contributions to the promotion. While he wished him the best on his return to WWE, the AEW star decided not to comment any further on the subject.
