While pros in their respective fields, wrestlers often also diversify their interests into other sports. While many wrestlers have ventured into MMA and similar combat sports, Maxwell Jacob Friedman aka MJF seems to have a thing for baseball.
Hailing from the Big Apple, he has always been a fan of New York Mets. Now a lifelong dream of his involving his home team has come true.
MJF to bat for the Mets

MJF took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a piece of exciting news with his fans and followers. He announced that he was going to be present at the NY Mets vs. Cincinnati Reds match later tonight. While the pro wrestler would be attending the match, he’s also gotten the opportunity to do some batting practice with the team.
MJF mentioned that this was something he had dreamt about since childhood. He wrote “This little pr**k saw it coming whilst no one else did”, underlying the fact that he always believed that he would achieve this dream of his. He concluded by writing the lines, “We are the music makers, We are the dreamers of dreams”. These lines are often associated when someone forging their destiny. Here, MJF has done it.

The New York Mets originated from the boroughs of New York City, Queens. This is the only other major league baseball club originating from New York, the other being the New York Yankees. They played their first official league match back in April 1962. The team is one of New York City’s pride and joy, including MJF.
MJF achieving his childhood dream adds another feather to his cap. Considering that luck is in his favor, he has had a pretty good year so far.
MJF is on a roll
MJF holds the AEW World Champion title, and he’s well on his way to breaking a record. He has been sitting with the title for almost 300 days now. With this, he already broke Chris Jericho’s record of 182 days and Jon Moxley’s record of 227 days. He is just a few days away from breaking Kenny Omega’s record of 347 days.

MJF also headlined AEW’s biggest annual event, AEW All In alongside Adam Cole in August. Friedman made his debut with AEW in 2019. Since then, he has garnered applause even from veterans in the industry. Now he is all set to make an appearance on Grand Slam. With luck being in his favor, fans want to see whether his winning streak will continue or if he’ll lose his title.
