The WNBA playoffs have begun and so has the battle between the owners. With all prying eyes on the two most revered franchises, there was a silent battle among fans as well. After days of speculation, the Chicago Sky collided with the Las Vegas Aces. Behind the scenes, it was a matchup between minority owners Dwyane Wade and Tom Brady. While many were rooting for Wade’s Sky, the Aces beat them in the playoff’s first round.

While fans are dejected with the team’s loss, Wade and the players are hopeful of their comeback. While they had a spectacular win to clinch their spot in the playoff and were much improved this year, the Aces definitely had the upper hand. The defending champions beat the Sky 87-59.
Taking to his Instagram, the 3x champion shared an update. Dwyane Wade captured a moment from the contest and shared it on his IG story.
With a win against the New York Liberty, the Aces had the best record in the league. The team had also won all four matchups with the Sky this season. This was Chicago’s chance to turn the tables.

Much hope and expectations were heaped on the star player of the team, Kahleah Copper. While she had presented a stunning display throughout the season, she had to elevate her game in order to win against the super team. While she scored 15 points, Courtney Williams tallied 9 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists. However, they still could not win.

Dwyane Wade’s team defeated the Minnesota Lynx with a 92-87 win. It helped them secure their spot in this year’s WNBA playoffs. However, the team’s road to the playoffs was never an easy one.
The Sky had won the championship in 2021. Following this, the $85 million franchise faced a crisis due to the exit of their best players such as Allie Quigley and Candace Parker.
After the exit of their coach James Wade in mid-season, the team had to start all over again with a new coach Emre Vatansever.
