Even though basketball has largely been a male-dominated sport, the women’s side is quickly catching up. While the sport continues to grasp new heights, brands are starting to follow suit. Whether it be at the collegiate or professional level, female hoopers from around the country continue to become major attractions. As a result of this exploding popularity, brands are trying to capitalize, with Michael Jordan leading the charge.

The Jordan brand has long been among the most innovative in the field. Even its origin was a stroke of genius from its parent Nike. While brand endorsements and deals were minimal, they took a chance on a young college athlete by the name of Michael Jordan. Today, that investment stands at roughly $5.2 billion. But, their USP remains the same. Whether it’s 1983 or 2023, the brand is still one step ahead because of its attitude. That same ideology brought its head to the WNBA as the brand unveiled its latest signing. In a post by MJ himself, Stefanie Dolson was announced as the latest member of the Jordan brand.

With a sweet message to boot, “Big dreams, big energy, big things to come. The dominant center adds the title of Jordan Family member to her star studded resume”,?the signing caught the attention of Jasmine, Jordan’s daughter.

The 2-time All-Star has quickly become one of the premier names in the entire WNBA.

A dominating Center, Dolson was just as brilliant at the collegiate level. While a back-to-back NCAA Champion in 2013 and ’14, her introduction to the WNBA was stellar. Since then, she’s become a major staple of the league, even lifting the WNBA Championship Trophy with the Chicago Sky.

This past year, she became a standout acquisition for the New York Liberty. With her team enjoying a 2-1 lead, the latest news adds to an already stellar resume.
