Flexing His ?Vodka and Champagne? Nights With Putin, NBA Legend Dennis Rodman Claims to Have Saved Brittney Griner

Dennis Rodman has always been an eccentric personality. Known for his flamboyant style and hairdos, the NBA legend was quite the character. During his time with the Chicago Bulls, Rodman and Michael Jordan along with Scottie Pippen formed arguably the greatest trio of all time. Winning 3 championships in a row the ‘magic trio’ were unstoppable. making them famous worldwide. But while MJ and Pippen were your household celebrities, the same cannot be said for ‘the worm’.

Known for his shenanigans and larger than life personality, the 62-year-old had a very different set of fans. Famous for his visit to North Korea after being invited by Kim Jong Un, Rodman was always different. Recently revealing his friendship with Russian leader Valdimir Putin, the 6’7 forward claimed that his “vodka nights” with the leader was the reason behind WNBA star Brittney Griner’s release.

NBA legend Dennis Rodman makes a bold claim

During an interview with DJ Vlad on his YouTube channel, NBA legend Dennis Rodman discussed loosening up alongside Valdimir Putin. Questioning the 2x Defensive Player of the Year about his relationship with the Russian president, the DJ asked, “What was Putin like in person, what was his personality like based on when you guys hung out?” to which Dennis replied, “Just like what you doing.”

Going on to explain his statement Rodman went on to reveal details about his meeting with the president. Talking about the human tendencies within people he stated, “You would be surprised how people loosen up when they’re having fun with the right person.”?Flexing that he “drank vodka and champagne” with Putin, Rodman revealed that Putin wasn’t always on “president?mode”.

Vlad then questioned the former all-star about the Brittney Griner situation. Convicted for possession of mari*uana in Russia, the former WNBA star was sent to prison. Claiming that he saved her due to his drinking time with Putin, Dennis stated. “I actually started mentioning it on TV and interviews and say, ‘hey you know it’s Brittney Griner.’ I even sent a message to her on TV.”

While it still remains to be seen if Rodman’s persuasion was the reason behind Griner’s release, there is credibility in his friendship with Valdimir Putin. It is not Rodman’s first time being involved with powers that have opposed the United States.

Dennis Rodman’s relationship with regimes that America despises

Dennis’ first showing in doing so was when he visited North Korea in 2013. Present there for an exhibition match alongside the Harlem Globetrotters, Rodman returned to the country once again in 2017.

Forming a formidable relationship with best friend Kim Jong Un (whom he defended on many occasions), the former Chicago Bulls star even managed to release a prisoner of 15 years after sending a tweet about his release to the dictator.
