On one hand, fans are eager to know if Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman will reunite for the ‘Ring of Honor’ ceremony by the Chicago Bulls. On the other, Charles Barkley believes this ceremony would be an embarrassment for the former superstars because of the organization’s current situation.

Brutally pin-pointing the team’s poor start this season, Barkley had some harsh words for the Bulls’ front office, which has failed to make crucial changes over the last few seasons. Hopefully, this motivates the organization to make some changes by February.

The Bulls are the 12th seed in the East with a 9-16 record, having lost two games in a row. Their attempt to have a successful run with the core of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vučević hasn’t borne any fruits. And Barkley believes the team should have been dismantled years ago.

During his appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, the 76ers legend shared, “The Bulls are an embarrassment to the NBA. I have zero idea what they are doing. They should have had a clearance sale like three years ago. I was like, ‘Dude, y’all stink, y’all stink, y’all stink’… I’m trying to figure out when they are going to start to rebuild.”

“Were they waiting on Michael and the guys to die before they came up with the Ring of Honor?… I think you’d rather have a statue than be in the Ring of Honor,” he added. Interestingly, the Chuckster himself is part of a Ring of Honor with the Phoenix Suns.

While the In-Season Tournament presented all struggling franchises with a chance to win some silverware, it turned out to be shambolic for the Bulls. They couldn’t secure even one win. This has now led to some serious questions about their future.

The trade season will begin on December 15 and the Bulls are expected to make massive changes to their team. Reports have revealed that LaVine and DeRozan will most likely be moved on as the franchise looks to move in a new direction. Moreover, they are also willing to move Alex Caruso, who has been a crucial piece for the Bulls.

The Lakers are one of the teams with an eye on the Bulls’ disgruntled assets. Repeated failures have forced the Bulls to rebuild. If they fail to get good value out of the likes of All-Stars like DeRozan and LaVine, Barkley might come back with some fierce words to mock the Chicago unit.
