With a career that lasted over 15 seasons, the Hall of Famer led Chicago to over six championships and created several unbeatable records. Being in the presence of such a personality must be an intimidating thought for an aspiring player out there.

In fact, even other Hall of Fame-inducted players share this anxiety. A former Boston Celtics legend faced a similar feeling when coming across MJ for the first time.

Former champion recalls the first impression of Michael Jordan

A few days ago, Ray Allen sat down for an interview with James Posey. The same was highlighted in Sports Illustrated. Touching upon various topics, the main point of discussion soon shifted toward Allen?s first few years as a rookie player. Ray used the topic to talk about how his second game was against the Chicago Bulls. Being merely 21 years old, the former player had to go against His Airness himself.

?I was scared to death,? said Allen, recalling his emotions from 1996.

The then Milwaukee Bucks player remembered how he was just stretching on the floor when the theme song started playing. Onlookers watched as the Bulls roster ran out onto the court. Even Allen had to look up to admire the man who is still regarded as one the greatest NBA players of all time.

?This is so surreal to me that I?m sitting here on this court right now and I?ve watched this for the past 10 years of my life,? said Allen. ?So now I?m here, I was like ?I?m rooting for him against me?.?

Ray Allen voices his opinion in the GOAT debate

There are many questions out there that remain a constant point of debate for people. One of them is the question of who is the better NBA Player: Michael Jordan or ?LeBron James?

The question has been a source of debate that?s not limited to only the fans. A few players as well have stated their opinion regarding the same. Following in their bandwagon, Ray Allen also made his opinion clear. During an interview on ?The Dan Patrick Show?, Allen was asked whether there is something that the Los Angeles Lakers star can do in order for him to quality as the best player in his mind.

The two-time NBA champion didn?t have to think long before replying ?No?.

“Just off the cuff, he’s certainly top five of all time. But, playing against him and MJ, I think, for me, it?s MJ all day long,” said Allen during the interview. The former player clarified that since he played against Jordan, he knows how the latter ?just had everything.?

Despite the fact that he got intimidated early on, Ray Allen would go on to have a flourishing career. His skills and prowess would earn him a place in the Celtics’ ?Big Three?, alongside Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

The athlete might have reached a position that would have resulted in some other aspiring player getting intimidated just by being in his presence.
