It’s a comeback for the ages. A team that won only 1 game through all of last season, has already tied its record this year. The down-and-out Colorado Buffaloes have a chance at revival in the form of former NFL superstar, Deion Sanders. Celebrities across sports and even from Hollywood have taken note of the turnaround Coach Prime brought about. One of them is an old nemesis of Michael Jordan and the other, an actor who supported Sanders through his health scare.
Sanders overcame a recent bout of ill health while reshaping the Buffs. Among many criticisms, the financial aspect was the biggest topic of discussion online. Now Coach Prime’s celebrity supporters are highlighting how he’s boosting Colorado’s future.

The football program at the University of Colorado-Boulder was struggling when Deion Sanders arrived as head coach in 2023. The university couldn’t afford Sanders’ salary and he was recruiting talent on scholarships. This financial gamble was among the many things receiving criticism from sports media. Then the Buffaloes beat the No.17 school, Texas Christian University on September 2 in the season opener. It gave Sanders the panache to strut into the post-game conference and call out his critics.
He shared a similar speech hyping his team, which also includes his son Shedeur Sanders as quarterback, on his Instagram. Celebrities have been resharing his posts to celebrate his big feat.
Among them was Jamie Foxx. He commented, “Let’s get it COACH!!!!!! Congrats on big win!!! Your wisdom, your energy and your heart are so valuable thank you thank you thank you,” under one post.
Foxx, who overcame a near-death health scare, has been commenting encouraging messages since Sanders’ recent surgeries.

Another person who didn’t miss the chance to congratulate a fellow coach is Isiah Thomas. Zeke and the Detroit Pistons dominated the East for the first few years of Michael Jordan’s career, earning them a famous diss from His Airness on his Netflix series.
The two-time NBA champion shared a reel on his Instagram Stories of Sanders saying his now famous quote, “We coming.”
The Buffaloes are coming back alright. Thanks to ‘Prime Time,’ the school and their football program are coming back in a major way.
Coach Prime boosts Colorado’s future
Deion Sanders is doing more than shaping a team. He’s completing one of the biggest overhauls in college football history. Given the team’s lackluster history, they were also struggling financially. Nonetheless, they signed Sanders on a $29 million contract they couldn’t afford.
The Prime Effect struck as Colorado season tickets sold out for the first time since 1996. Then his fans donated an astounding $28 million to to the school’s athletics department. Their spring game was broadcast on ESPN and ticket sales are at an all-time high.
