When Carmelo Anthony bid farewell to the game, he made a promise that his legacy would be carried on by his 16-year-old son. Well, looks like the New York Knicks legend is backing it up as Anthony Jr. is heading in the right path. The 6’4 teenager is currently fielding offers from colleges, notably including the Syracuse Orange. Although a big test lies ahead of him, he has made his dad proud by representing the nation already.?
Melo, who continues to guide his son in the right path, decided to appreciate his son, as he looked back into the similarities of both their careers.?

Carmelo Anthony defines “full circle” with his son’s USA selection
Anthony started bringing fame to his career early in 2001 when he was around 16 to 17 years old. A young Melo had the perfect start to his career after he got selected for Team USA basketball’s youth development festival. That start helped him to win three gold medals for his nation later in his career 22 years later, 16-year-old Kiyan Anthony is in a similar situation as he is predicted to be a top prospect for the 2023 class.
The young baller was seen at the USA Basketball Junior Team minicamp. As always, Carmelo Anthony was there to support his son from the sideline.?

In an interview during the practice, Anthony defined his?“full circle”?moment. The 39-year-old shared,?“I mean this is full circle…Take it back to 2001, I was here on this court… as a 15, 16-year-old kid.”
Anthony added that, now retired, he wants to “be a father, be a parent, and just encourage these kids…I am a fan of all these kids… I mean this is the best. You ain’t gonna get better than this.”

It’s truly an iconic moment as we are witnessing multiple second generation prospects take over the college game. From Shaqir O’Neal and Bronny James to Cameron Boozer and Kiyan Anthony, the future looks bright. And just a little bit familiar. Nonetheless, Kiyan still has a huge test coming up.?

Kiyan Anthony set to follow his dad’s college path
According to reports, the dad-son duo have scheduled an official visit to Syracuse later this month.
The Syracuse Orange is a famous NCAA team and 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony won the NCAA championship with them before his 2003 NBA Draft.
That is the only championship the college has ever won. Kiyan Anthony has a good chance to recreate history if manages to sport the orange jersey soon. Only time shall give us the answer and hopefully, Kiyan carries forward his dad’s legacy.
