Terry Gene Bollea, more commonly known by his ring name of Hulk Hogan, is one of the most recognizable names in professional wrestling. So many years in the public eye helped Hogan to form some unique connections. Believe it or not, those connections had a presence in the world of the NBA as well. The wrestler was particularly close with Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman, as we were reminded recently by the latter?s social media post.
Despite having been retired for almost 11 years now, the legacy Hogan started to create since his debut back in 1977 made him a fan favorite during his heyday. He even played some part in the Bulls’ championship win back in 1998 as he forced a Michael Jordan reunion.

A few hours ago, Dennis Rodman took to his official Instagram account to share a picture with his 2.5 Million followers. It highlighted a throwback moment between the NBA icon and Hulk Hogan. The duo was seen donning bandanas with ?Hollywood? inscribed on them and T-Shirts carrying ?nWo? on their front.
The moment featured in the picture took place back when Rodman was a part of the New World Order (nWo), consisting of himself, Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and many others. The Wolfpac sign and the ?4 life? tagline became their signature looks. Rodman credits his 3 year wrestling career to the nWo, with whom he made his debut back in 1997.
The story shared by Rodman shed light on his close bond with the nWo. Outside of the wrestling ring, Rodman and Hogan were the dynamic duo of the decade. Their presence on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’?and ‘Saturday Night Live’?helped to establish the presence of professional wrestling in the minds of the people.

Dennis Rodman was not the first individual to venture into professional wrestling during his time with the NBA. However, he was someone who, at times, chose to prioritize his side interest over basketball.
Hulk Hogan once had to convince Rodman to not abandon Michael Jordan and co.
In an episode of the WWE Chronicle Documentary, Hulk Hogan recalled a moment that took place back in 1998. The Chicago Bulls were in the midst of the Finals against the Utah Jazz. Chicago was leading 2-1 and everyone was expecting them to bring the championship title home. It was not something, however, that Rodman wanted to prioritize.

Hogan recalled how Rodman skipped his practice session and flew to meet the WWE Hall of Famer. Then Bulls Coach Phil Jackson continuously tried to reach Rodman but to no avail.
?I?ve got Phil Jackson calling me, going, ?Where?s my guy at, where?s my guy at??? said Hogan, recalling the moment. ?I?m going, ?Rodman, Phil Jackson keeps blowing up my phone, you gotta go back. And Rodman says, ?I don?t wanna go back.’?
Hogan, however, was able to convince Rodman to leave behind whatever was bothering him and not let Michael Jordan and the rest of the team down. The 2x NBA All Star eventually agreed and appeared for Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
