Shaquille O’Neal has made great business moves in his career. But it wasn’t as if everything he touched turned to gold. Most often, Shaq would test a product out himself before deciding to give it out to the public. If the 4x Champion likes it, then he will promote the item himself. But one of Shaq’s main qualities is that he will always listen to people who come to him with ideas.

This led to the Lakers legend giving his ear to one that he should have never paid any attention to. But he did, and he tested the product for over a week before deciding that it was one of the dumbest ideas ever.

Shaq entertained a bizarre business idea

Shaquille O’Neal was the special guest in a recent episode of Owned by Rex Chapman. Shaq talked about his life outside of basketball and his various business ventures. Shaq has always made it a priority to listen to people and learn new things.

So during the show, Shaq was asked what the worst business idea he ever received was. He had a quick answer to it. Not only did he just receive the idea, but he entertained the thought for some time before deciding to let go of it.

Shaq said, “Sweat Cologne”. Yup, it is just what it sounds like. Shaq revealed that some people would come and collect Shaq’s sweat and use it to make cologne. Shaq revealed why he agreed to it at first. He said, “I was doing cardio anyways, and actually my dumba** entertained it“.

As Shaq was already going to the gym, he did not have to do anything extra, so he agreed to the idea, and this led to some real business moves. Shaq said, “They would collect the sweat, and he put it in the thing, and he brought back the cologne. And it actually smelled pretty good“.

But then Shaq decided that because of the way it was made, it wouldn’t sell well, so he stopped the process. He prides himself on knowing exactly when to get himself involved in something. If Shaq is passionate about something, he would step on the floor himself to elevate the product. This is the reason for one of his newest ventures.

Shaq’s experience has made him a president

Shaquille O’Neal’s prowess in business and marketing has brought him back home to Reebok. He recently joined the company as the President of basketball. Shaq has already started making waves in the industry by announcing the return of the iconic Shaq Attaq MVP shoes. He also signed Angel Reese, a college basketball star who is sure to make it to the WNBA.

Shaq has also tried to be affordable with everything that he has put out to the public. He does not overcharge for any of his products and always develops things that a regular person can afford. Looking out for the everyday person and making them happy is what Shaq strives for.
