Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown stunned the basketball community with his historic $305 million extension. Tyrese Haliburton, LaMelo Ball, and a few other young stars received hefty extensions as well. 9 days after Brown’s extension hit the news, a Los Angeles Lakers superstar bagged a three-year extension which is the highest annual extension in NBA history at $62 million. Guess who decided to mock it? Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal.
Safe to say, O’Neal was left stunned like the rest of the fans! Bringing back astonishing news from the 2013-14 season, the 4x champion decided to mock the record-breaking extension on his social media. Well, this is not the first time Shaq is mocking this NBA veteran either!

Jaylen Brown received a contract extension which will help him bag $69 million in the last season of his contract if all enablers are met. Sadly, the record-breaking deal did not last long for him or the Celtics. The Los Angeles Lakers decided to compete in this as well.
Anthony Davis has managed to bag a contract extension worth $186 million for just three years. Earning an average salary of $62 million for one single season, Davis will now get paid $35 million more than Shaq’s highest-ever salary for a single season. Let’s not forget Shaq was paid $27 million in 2004 only after he bagged three championships and an MVP for the LA unit. Looks like Shaq did not love this new extension!
The LA legend shared an Instagram story, revealing the salary cap in NBA back in 2013, which was $3 million lesser than what AD will earn annually.

Is Shaquille O’Neal insecure about Anthony Davis’s net worth?
The LA legend stands at the top with a net worth of $450 million. Already with a net worth of around $150 million, AD is slowly raising the bar with this new extension. It’s safe to say there is a good chance that Davis might overtake Big Diesel in the upcoming years. Moreover, is this the reason Shaq resumes mocking the 2020 champion time and again?
Shaq has not failed to criticize the Lakers’ big man. Especially about his injuries. The 2000 MVP has not failed to point out AD’s absence for the team during the most crucial times. Shaq was even criticized for mocking Davis’s wheelchair exit during game 5 of the Conference semi-finals this year.
