From a young boy in Germany idolizing Michael Jordan while watching NBA games, Nowitzki could never have imagined the magnitude of the Naismith Hall of Fame’s significance. In Germany, sports like soccer and tennis took the spotlight, and the Hall of Fame held a different meaning. But after arriving in the NBA, Nowitzki soon grasped the immense honor bestowed upon those inducted into the Hall.

Fast forward to the present, Dirk Nowitzki will now be the seventh player with Dallas Mavericks ties inducted into the Hall. He’ll also be the first to have spent his entire NBA career with one franchise. However, with 1,522 games, 31,560 points, and 14 All-Star Game appearances, in an interview with the Dallas News, when asked about the ceremony he says, “Wow. I get a little frog in my throat as we speak about it“.

Well, good o’ Drik can get a little witty sometimes!

Talking about his HOF speech, Dirk said he won’t be going for 41:41. No plans to match Michael Jordan as he spoke for almost 23 minutes. He said, “I think they would cut me off long before that. Obviously, this is an amazing class and everyone wants to share their journey. So I don’t want to make this a 30-minute-type ordeal“.
