There are not many basketball athletes who can put brakes on the legendary Michael Jordan. He is often regarded as the greatest scorer in the history of the NBA. He’s the only athlete in basketball history to average over 30 points throughout the course of his career. Jordan conducted several camps during his time in the NBA where many challenged the Hall of Famer. Once Jordan was challenged by a billionaire and you might never guess what happened next.

Jordan was probably the most clutch player in the history of the league. He has won his team games in the final second several times throughout the course of his career. But something different happened when he faced a billionaire from the finance sector.

What happened when a billionaire challenged MJ

Michael Jordan has always been a sought-after personality in the USA. During his time in the NBA, he used to conduct camps where regular non-basketball folks could challenge the legend.

It was reported that once a bunch of men paid around $15,000 just to try their luck on the basketball court against MJ. While Jordan was able to bully almost every one of his opponents until he came face to face with a billionaire CEO who showed MJ something special.

John Rogers was the CEO of Ariel Investments with a net worth of over $10 billion. Turns out Rogers knows how to play ball. He drove down to his right-hand side and scored the layup against the six-time champion. This was a bit unexpected and Jordan was taken aback by surprise. John was able to score the layup for the second consecutive time too this time from the left-hand side. Goes without saying the CEO definitely hurt Jordan’s ego.

Jordan has organized various camps throughout the course of his career and there were reports that Jordan talked trash in his own camp to one of the kids.

Michael Jordan puts down a high schooler

During a camp organized by Michael Jordan, he was called out by a high schooler and MJ responded in typical fashion. Jordan’s competitiveness was on full display when he accepted the challenge of a high school basketball player. OJ Mayo was attending MJ’s camps and fought MJ in a basketball matchup.

Jordan responded to Mayo’s callout in a typical fashion. He bullied Mayo and was able to shut him up for good. Mayo learned an important lesson that day that never to call out the alleged GOAT of the game irrespective of whether he’s retired or not.
